Whatever else humans are, we are capable of a wide range of not so ordinary behavior.
Perhaps it's even a stretch to use the word "normal" when it applies to people.
If nothing else, it is entertaining and sometimes a bit quirky. Ripley's is full of them.

Here's one:
The record for the longest steady diet of hamburgers belongs to Don Gorske, a retired correctional officer from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. His obsession? The McDonald's Big Mac ---and it's been going strong since May 17, 1972 (53 years).
He eats one for lunch and one for dinner.

Here’s what makes his burger streak legendary: He claims Big Macs make up 90 to 95% of his solid food intake.
Despite his burger-heavy diet, he walks up to 6 miles daily and reports no major health issues. Go figure

Ohio police chase runaway inflatable pumpkin​

Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Police in Ohio shared body camera footage of the pursuit of a giant inflatable pumpkin that broke free from in front of a local home and went rolling through town.

The Parma Heights Police Department said on social media that officers found themselves "in hot pursuit of a giant inflatable pumpkin" rolling through town in the early hours of Wednesday.

The body camera footage shows the pumpkin being held in place at the side of a road by an officer and a member of the public.

The officer explains he had been chasing the pumpkin down the road.

I would have loved to hear the dispatcher calling for an officer on that one. Bet he got some flack from his fellow officers too.

Gloria Ramirez, "The Toxic Lady"

Gloria Ramirez was admitted to the emergency room on February 19, 1994, with late-stage cervical cancer. While she was being treated, a number of hospital staff became ill, with some fainting and others experiencing a range of symptoms, including shortness of breath and muscle spasms.

Witnesses reported an oily substance on Ramirez's body and a garlic-like odor, but the source was never confirmed.

Investigators later found a high concentration of dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO) in her blood and tissues. DMSO is a chemical compound often used as a solvent, but it was never clear how it was present in such a high concentration in her body.

The incident inspired fictional stories, most notably an episode ofthe TV show "Grey's Anatomy".

More details
