I've mentioned before that I once traveled frequently on business, and even on vacation I suffered from separation anxiety. Not so this time. Hubs has been working since January, and I have been by myself during the day. Between repairing the damage from raccoons in our attic and the next door neighbors repairing their roof, replacing their gutters and cutting our AT&T line when cutting down trees, I have had repairmen around my house for almost a month. Combine that with the current news, and I am ready to get away.

We planned a cruise to Mexico with friends before Hubs went back to work. I'm still going. I am flying to San Diego tomorrow and will just enjoy a day of exploring on Friday. It may be the San Diego Zoo or the Gaslight Quarter. My hotel is modest but is on the Bay and near Little Italy. I know I will be enjoying some good pasta.

On Saturday, the big "march" is right at the San Diego port, so my friends and I will be joining in before boarding our ship. Afterward, we will be sailing to Mexico for 7 days. The weather is expected to be great. We all wish Hubs was with us, but he and I are planning a late-summer cruise with the extended family. We said "goodbye" tonight because he gets up really early and my flight is at 2:30pm.

I don't know why I have no anxiety over this trip but I'm so excited. Maybe it's because my daily anxiety has been so high. Anyway, I'm ready for it!

Enjoy your travels and if I can add a selfish touch, remember me, for today I am going under the surgeon's knife. A hernia that has been protruding through the abdominal muscle in two places, as well as the scrotum, is to be repaired and a mesh inserted. I will be at the hospital in a couple of hours time. The trepidation I just cannot help, but the thought of being relieved of the constant pain and discomfort makes the risk of surgery, negligible. Not exactly an adventure, but a rather nervous day.

I wish you the best possible outcome during your surgery. We want to keep seeing those pics of you and your Missus dancing together. 🫂

I had an inguinal hernia that had to be repaired with mesh. It was no problem at all. I went to sleep, then woke up, no pain, no discomfort, and although I had to take it easy for the next couple of weeks while the scar healed, after that it's been plain sailing ever since. 👍

Very much appreciated, thank you. Something that I have posted previously that was definitely an adventure. Yesterday, whilst preparing for surgery, the clothes that my other half and I wore, attracted phone photo after phone photo. Some commented that we look like professional ballroom dancers. I shared with them the time that I took my lady to Scotland. We chanced on a burlesque gig, come vaudeville, ending in a couple of hours dancing.
What you have read somewhere here previously and what had everyone reading their phones yesterday was the story about the fellow who was amazed that two "old" people could still dance. If the story escapes you then click here and refresh your memory.
