I live in deer country. Most of my neighbors have hit deer with their cars. As you are facing a deer, it will run away either to your right, or your left. Prey animals do this. If the deer is on the side of the road and you're in your car, it will run either to your right or your left. That means 50% of the time, a deer will run in front of your car. My last encounter cost me $5,000.
Just watching the deer play tag with each other in my yard, they are extremely agile animals

I have had 2 dozen like that guy stand in front of me on a 2 lane blacktop highway. Me stopped them looking in my windshield and tall.
Eventually they moved on South East ward on their trek to fall space.
