The bobcat is the only wild cat native to Pennsylvania. They are elusive and rarely seen, but they are surprisingly numerous and live in most of the state's wooded areas.Last night, there was more "lake effect" snow- about an inch. It's just swept away. But, I still get my nightly visit from "the animal". There, in the snow, are fresh paw prints. It comes up the steps across my deck and jumps off. It's been doing this for years. According to Yahoo "experts", it's a feline. I 've had cats all my life and know pussy cat paw prints-these ain't no pussy cat's. There about twice the size of a house cat's paws. Whatever it is, comes regularly early in the morning 3-4 AM. I've never seen it. The tracks come down my driveway, and veers off to hop onto my deck. I can't figure out why it wants to come up on my deck and jump off.
I'm no Danial Boone, but they seem to be cat racks.About those tracks... just as a wild left field toss here, have you compared them to fisher tracks or mink tracks? We have both running wild here and you're not *too* far away. @fuzzybuddy
It's fun to remember. On my way to the pharmacy, last night, it started to snow. That brought back memories of playing Superman. My buddy, Ron and I loved playing Superman- all you needed was a car, a stretch of interstate road, and falling snow. The guy, playing Superman would sit in the passenger seat, as the driver sped up. Extending the arms, like Superman flying, and having the snow go by you, gave a really cool effect of flying. Also having very liberal amounts of Budweiser added to the effect.
But Fuzz, that's drunk driving! Thank goodness we all made it through our crazy youth! On my way to the pharmacy, last night, it started to snow. That brought back memories of playing Superman. The facial recognition on my phone is great but it was a bit annoying during Covid when it didn’t recognize me with a mask on.To be honest, I'm not always well groomed when I'm online. In fact, I'm usually pretty gross. So, I wondered how great the face recognition app was in my computer. It does recognize me even if I wear glasses or not. I decided to test the app. I got behind the screen and tapped my tablet "on". There was no way it could 'recognize' me. The little red light came on 'searching' for me. And all the Microsoft designed circuits found me. Great!!! So, a ghost could walk in and use my tablet.
Interesting????????????I do not miss winter or snow at all, however, we are having cold weather below freezing. I hope it doesn't start snowing here.
You do have an interesting life.![]()
When I first moved here, 35 yrs. ago, there were mink running around in the back yard. I don't think it could be a pet cat, I don't know anybody that would let a pet cat out when it's -5 below zero.About those tracks... just as a wild left field toss here, have you compared them to fisher tracks or mink tracks?
