Surely this is going to escalate into something bigger, they can't go on like this without some kind of intervention...surely...

More than 30 people were killed and over 100 were wounded in a Russian rocket strike on a railway station in east Ukraine today as desparate civilians tried to evacuate to safer parts of the country.

The strike was on Kramatorsk's busy station, with graphic pictures on Friday showing bodies strewn across floor outside, lying amongst abandoned luggage and children's prams. Some had already been put into green body bags, while other photos showed smoke rising from the station as firefighters worked at the scene.

Pictures also showed the wreckage of a large missile lying on the grass outside the station. White Russian text was shown written down the side of its casing, which read: 'For (our) Children.'

Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky took to Instagram to decry the attack, and confirmed the reports of casualties. '[Russian forces] are cynically destroying the civilian population. This is an evil that has no limits. And if it is not punished, it will never stop,' he wrote.

The Mayor of Kramatorsk said there were about 4,000 people at the city's railway station when it was hit by the rockets. He said most were women, elderly and children preparing to evacuate to safer regions as Russia focuses its troops in eastern Ukraine. Regional governor Pavlo Kyrylenko also said thousands of people were at the train station at the time of the strike.

And still the world sit back, not doing enough.
So sad that world leaders do not want to piss Putin off, rather a few thousand dead Ukrainians.
They should hang their heads in shame and be removed from their positions once this is over and Putin is dead.
I understand but don't condone the reticence of world leaders to become involved for fear of starting a world war... but my god, what does it have to come to, for some type of intervention..? ( rhetorical question obviously .. )

You're on the right track, Holly. Even if the U.S. gave Zelensky the armaments he is asking for, it could be interrupted by Putin as our intervention into aiding his enemy. I also think that any country also has to be careful as to how much aid they give Ukraine with armaments, so that Putin doesn't take it as they wanting to be involved. An act of contrition by a country could signal to Putin to "bring it on." Next, we'll have bombers and fighters in the air and it could be game on, WWIII.

I am as disgusted as anyone, but I would be 100% against sending our young people into a war on foreign soil where the U.S. has no interests. By killing so many civilians, Putin may be thinking it will force Zelensky into surrendering. His country has lost thousands of people and a vast part of Ukraine has been turned into desolation.

There is NO good solution to this war. With nutcase Putin calling the shots, he could easily escalate his actions to include an attack on NATO countries, etc., which would then quickly lead to WWIII....and even a nuclear war.

The best we can hope for is that the sanctions begin to impact the Russian population such that those people rise up and demand his removal.

There are demonstrations in the streets by some Russian people who are against the war, they are quickly arrested and thrown into jail. With the Kremlin backing Putin, which you would expect, a pity the Kremlin wasn't bombed into oblivion.

I keep hoping that Ukrainians direct some missiles at Putin's palace. It's not that far from the border and I believe near where Ukraine sunk a Russian battleship. Hit Putin where it hurts.

I wonder at what point the world would consider assassination justified. Just what level of atrocities would that take?
