Okay fair warning for all, tomorrow'ss

I was taught that the hush puppies were a way for the cook to use up the leftover cornmeal coating mixture from breading fish.

Probably a way to stretch the meal on those days when the fishing was poor.

Definitely a tasty treat! 🐷

Thank you this is what I imagine And it looks awful. I dunk biscuits in my tea and I pour gravy over roast beef. I find this a very interesting thread in the fact that each country has names for foods that are alien to others. What I mean is toad in the hole, if you are not English you might not know what this dish is. Hush puppies, to me they are a pair of shoes, as a food dish I have no idea what it is.
yessss... we know it makes sense...lol:love:

This was weird: none of the local stores had the sausage gravy, didn't want to get all the ingredients to make my own, but found them on ebay, ordered 4 cans.. a few minutes ago, I found a small regular plastic bag in front of my door, nothing on it but my first name and a bar code.. no idea who delivered the canned gravy or when.. 😮
