my HIPS and my BUTT//////started last week when my trousers fell off
twice at a doc's office, and I am still having problems.....I do have some suspenders to use but I REALLY don't like relying on them......also seem to
have lost my initiative, my energy, my dexterity, in other words i'm lost!!!!:(:devilish:

If it were me I would definitely rely on the suspenders as opposed to my pants hitting the floor whenever. 😉

As for the dexterity...just take it slow. My dexterity is starting to show signs of getting weird so I have to slow down and concentrate a little more on what I'm doing. My energy and initative have been low too. The COPD I think. Don't be so hard on yourself. Do what you can for yourself. Maybe get some canned veggies to use as hand weights to work out with a little from your chair.

Get up and walk through the house more or try to plan one small thing to do. I get ahead of myself and plan more than I am able to do. Then I end up doing nothing. 🤗

Did the Dr or nurse say you had lost weight? How much, how fast?
I won't even ask if you been eating regular as that could be part of the other things going on to.
I really wish you weren't quite so far from hubby and I so we could help you get out and do things
you need to. We have plenty of spare time for sure. If you can think of anyway we can help, please
let me know.

as for energy.. if you keep tripping as you do, then you won't want to exercise so you need to do some exercises which don't involve you moving from your chair.. again Youtube is your friend.......then that will give you back your energy...

When the trouser are high waisted with the back of the waist band being higher than the front and the hems are twenty-two inch circumference, braces hold the shape far better than a belt.

As I read suspenders I also thought of the women's underwear at first. But then I remembered that in the U.S. these are called garter belts.

Don, it happens! 🤷‍♀️

If you don’t like suspenders look into pants with an elastic waistband. Some are casual like sweatpants and some are more traditional with belt loops that cover the elastic band like these from Amazon.

Try to work on your diet/calorie intake. Maybe include a protein shake like boost everyday and a few more slices of Mrs. Smith’s apple pie.

Don’t assume that every time you drop an egg on the floor or catch your hand in the door that it has to do with old age, young folks have their share of oops moments.

Talk to your PCP about your concerns!!!

Talk to us! 🫂

I hear you, Hawkdon. Though my trousers (pants) stay up.

We must keep up the fight, but at the same time accept that change is inevitable.

Mind you, it's time for a belt or suspenders. You don't want to end your days in a jail cell. :D

I should have thought of suspenders after chemo and radiation a few months ago, instead holding up my pants or poking so many holes in my belt that I looked like a meth head.

Too late now, the weight is almost all back 😄😄

I just ordered a stretchy men's belt for my hubby from Amazon. Do a search there to find one you like. You and he have the same issues so I can understand your thoughts. His protein is low, one chocolate Ensure a day, not very active cuz of copd, try your best.

the stretchy belt i just told hawkdon about doesn't have holes. It's woven so if your weight tends to fluctuate, like my husband, it's perfect and it's not that expensive.
