oh yes I remember that well, the cream popping off the foil lid when it was freezing outside ...or the birds pecking the lid off...

I used to deliver milk when I was just a little girl..on my fathers' float... 3 hours of icy cold or rain in the winter before school...

Whe n you say Normal van whaddya mean?...a transit?....ours are still floats but with a proper cab but still with an open bed for the crates... I tried to find a photo online and couldn't.. I'll try again...:D


ETA.... here , it's apparently electric.....like the old style floats but much quieter

just a normal transit van.Haven't seen a float in years.

Aunt Bea, after babysitting and mowing lawns I tried my hand at delivering newspapers (I grew up with 2 brothers)... all 4 seasons and the worst was definitely winter with its ice and snow! I have to admit it though, I did break the bottom glass of a screen door once.
