You won't see this on Amazon, not at $3m+ :D

Still, fascinating stuff. Who can really put a price on things like this, which is interesting for a number of reasons.

My only hope is that it goes to an institution. I remember reading somewhere that the best examples of Dinosaur fossils are actually owned and held by private owners who keep them locked away from the general public. I accept the world we live in, and if you're rich enough and so inclined, you can own this. However, I tend to think we all have some kind of ownership of items such as this, even if it's only to go see it behind glass in a museum somewhere.

I heard about this through a television feature. I would greatly prefer that this artifact go to a museum, but sadly many museums are more cash-strapped than wealthy private individuals, who will spend almost anything to own “one of a kind” articles.

Great works of art like historical artifacts are another example of things that should be available in the original to be experienced by all rather than privately owned. They should be considered cultural treasures, not private possessions…

The Smithsonian. I saw a lot of interesting things there. Would be a good place for it.

I read someplace once that The Smithsonean doesn't charge an entrance fee because it belongs to the people. Not that the people can go in and take anything. But it's for all to see.

This would be of interest to many and I agree, it would be best on public display. I've seen the Dead Sea Scrolls. Would be a shame to have had them all in some private collection.

Oldest book? Why has there not been an update to Christianity since the oldest Christian literature in existence? Perhaps because god is supposed to be perfect there is no need to update the material?
I have listened to sermons since childhood, and there is not a topic I have not heard. Considering the Bible as main source of information it doesn’t take long before you have heard it all.
Seems like modern sermons goal are about fuzzy warm feels good if you follow directions and be a good boy or girl. Strange there is a generalization of godly Knowledge among people, just enough to comprehend differences between right and wrong.
