of the British Empire" in 1979, then honoured again in 2020 by being
made a "Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire," this is
equivalent to a man being made a Knight.

She was well appreciated by the Queen to get such an honour.

Celebrity deaths usually don't effect me much but this rips my heart.
When I was in 7th grade my mom dropped me off at the mall and I stood in line to get her autograph. Around that time my sister took me to one of her concerts because she knew I liked her. And then there was the final scene in Grease
“Tell me 'bout it stud.”

Me too. She was sort of a "crush" when I was in high school. I had a few of her albums. "Have You Never Been Mellow" was one of my favorite songs. What a beautiful voice and such a tremendous loss.
