Not really a problem. The problem can become real if you spot a flock circling above you. Best to keep moving though.

I had to look up thermals. The first definition was long johns.
Second definition - A relatively small-scale, rising air current produced when the Earth's surface is heated.

I enjoy watching big bird birds like eagles and vultures gliding in the wind currents.

Vultures are not native to the UK, however we do have some domesticated ones, not in a zoo as you might expect. Actually they can be found in the tax collection office.

Reminds me of an old Walker, Texas Ranger episode. They said the vultures were circling, then panned up. It looked like sea gulls to me.
