Once again, TV reporters out in the midst of a hurricaine.

I just saw a TV reporter talk about the questionable decision of high rise tenants to ride out the storm. At least those tenants aren't falling down, outside, unprotected, in the middle of "100 mile per hour" winds.

You can't make this stuff up....
A CNN reporter is holding on to a railing in the midst of hurricane winds. She turns and sees two bikers out in the storm. And she chides them for being out in the middle of a hurricane. DUH!

Pure and simple: ratings. People apparently would rather see a TV reporter standing out in the street being pummeled by flying coconuts and palm fronds than to watch someone sitting at a desk in front of a weather chart. Ratings drive the show.

And those idiots on bicycles? Beyond words.

It's an insult to my (and our ) intelligence when they do this. Like we haven't seen a hurricane before. Honestly, it's ridiculous.

I wouldn't say they are idiots. I would say they are out of gas.

The weather forecasters have hyped up this storm so much I think they are going to be disappointed if it fizzles out.

I think the reporters and meteorologists who where practically blowing away in IRMA yesterday did it because they wanted to... I think it was thrilling to them.. Not my cup of tea, but to each his own.

It's insulting to listen to some of them. Can't think on their toes, doubt if they can chew gum and walk at the same time. I heard one say a sign was "blowing out of control", jerk, was so excited he was using cant and jargon instead of communicating with proper sentences.

The news channels were just filling in time between important updates...which I'm sure you see and important. there is only so much you can do to fill that time... I agree it was overkill on the folks blowing around in the wind, but I'm certainly not letting myself get upset or angry at them.... they were doing their jobs.

Every time we turned the TV on and my husband saw a reporter outside with all the wind ,he would start complaining about how stupid they were and he couldn't believe that they could just as easily filmed it while they were in a safe location inside. My thoughts were that it was their job and they had to do it. I told my Husband that even during a war reporters were on the ground in a war zone and putting themselves in danger . I guess putting yourself in danger is part of their job choice or no choice.
