One great song from 1969

I once saw a news story indicating the most memorable songs of our lives were on the air when we were 11 years old. Not sure how true this is, but I was 11 or 12 when all these songs came out and I love them all!

I'll add this one. Psychedelic and sexy!

It's funny you posted that one Doug. I was going to post Crystal Blue Persuasion after giving others a chance to post. Both songs charted on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1969.

Grazing In The Grass - The Friends Of Distinction {Stereo} 1969

“Grazing in the Grass” is an instrumental composed by Philemon Hou and first recorded by the South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela. Released in the United States as a single in 1968, it reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, ranking it as the 18th biggest hit of the year.

A vocal version by The Friends of Distinction, in 1969, was also a Top Ten pop and R&B hit, reaching #3 on the former and #5 on the latter. One of the group's members, Harry Elston, wrote lyrics for the song and sang lead on the Friends Of Distinction's version of it.

Can you dig it?
