One of the many reasons I love living in Texas

I wouldn't call that racist, rather discriminating; in that you don't suffer fools gladly!
I don't like people that treat any human badly. If you think you have any right to judge or look down on someone, you should go home and look in the mirror. We have all had problems, challenges that others don't know about. Far be it from me to make any uninformed conclusions.

Beautiful, I have lived here all my life and still have not seen it all in person. The hill country, canyon lake, floating the river, all wonderful. I prefer Mustand Island over Galveston. San Antonio is my favorite, great public transportation downtown. The mercado (market) is always a blast. So much good food. The best thing to do is start in DFW, drive down thru Austin, the hill country into San Antonio. I like to go in the spring when all the wildflowers are in bloom. April is also fiesta time in San Antonio, a great time to visit. There will be crowds but all looking for fun and family times. If you need more head to Mustang Island and get some of those fried shrimp as big as chicken legs. LOL

Mustang Island, and the long coastline along Brownsville are great vacation spots. We always enjoyed going down to the border.
Long trips, but worth the drive. ... that video didn't get into Corpus Christi and/or Brownsville/South Padre Island locations.

Also something worth seeing is the McDonald Observatory in the Davis Mountains .. way out there but such an interesting place to visit.

Rumor has it that this is the unofficial anthem for the state of Texas. True ? (hopefully someone from Texas will get a laugh..lol)

Catchy, huh? ...lol ... they play that every time they score - OU that is
All I know is that those two schools have a great rivalry every year .... but I don't follow them.
And I never understood why they play all their games in Dallas.

I guess I'm in the minority about TX. I guess we lived in the wrong place. Was very glad to leave for several reasons.

At the time, I was still working and I got a job at a medical billing company. I was the oldest and the only non-Hispanic women that worked there. The girls never talked to me and treated me like I didn't belong. I probably didn't. They shunned me and I went home crying more than once. I worked there for 2 years and some life changes came about and we decided to move back to our home state of PA. I gave 5 weeks notice, but it didn't take long for the "bosses" to take away my desk, chair, all my accounts, and my telephone. I had no place to work. I stood around for the first week and left early most days. One day, a girl there came up to me and said, "It's a good thing you're going back where you belong." I went home crying and never went back.

Another example....my husband is/was a competition trapshooter and the area we lived in had a club for him to shoot at. He was the new guy on the block and no one would talk to him. He was shunned when they found out he was not a Republican so they wouldn't associate with him. He could out shoot all of them and that was another reason they didn't like him.

Needless to say...we were glad to "go back to where we belong".
Sorry to hear that you got "screwed" by them "good ole' boys." I thought Texans were friendly but after reading your posting, I'm not all that sure? Maybe the folks you worked for were related to that Bush guy by the name of George?
