One thing you always wanted to do and didn't!

I watched a James Bond movie (Diamonds Are Forever) a week ago. It has a car chase through Las Vegas in it, and I was shocked how things have changed so dramatically in such a relatively short time! It's almost like "Fantasy Land" now, with all the differently themed Casinos! Does Trump still own a Casino in Atlantic City, @Marie5656?
As far as I know his casino no longer exists in AC.

Surf in warm ocean waters. Sea temperatures off most of the California coast require wetsuits and even then the cold on head and hands was too much for this thin person to get serious about long term despite loving the liquid visceral feelings and beach lifestyle.
The water on the Great Barrier reef was quite pleasant. It is a long flight to get there.

See the national parks in the western U.S. like Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. Nowadays thay would be difficult without a credit card.
Folks who are 62 or older can get a geezer card that gets you into National Parks, National Forests, Bureau of Land Management areas, and some state parks. I don't know the current cost, but you should be able to google it. It is a bargain.

Play a round at The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews.

I thought it was a big deal to play in a tournament at Pebble Beach. No, it wasn’t a PGA tournament I forget exactly how much I paid, but it was around $500, I think. I ran into Clint Eastwood and Jack Nicklaus hanging out in the pro shop that day. I have some good memories of that day.

Do you play a musical instrument? I have had the chance to perform in concerts in front of audiences. These days, there are also community orchestras that perform.

Yes - I'm a rusting guitarist. I've played for many years, just not in front of the concert hall size crowd. I've done some great shows, but never the biggun. Now I'm just playing with myself along with the stereo.

It took me a while to come up with something on this.

Guess I have lived long enough to experience most everything I had wanted to do. Except, I want to learn how to play a solo Guitar. A year or so ago I did start learning how to play a nylon string guitar. I have known how to play guitar chords and strum for some time. I played an instrument for many years in a band/ orchestra, so I know how to read music.

But playing a guitar by picking notes and blending in cords is the proper way to play solo guitar. Therefore, this year I have started the process of learning how to do this. It is very challenging, but I continue to work at it. When you retire it is a good thing to do or learn to do things that you always wanted to do.

Good idea about the guitar. I will try taking guitar lessons in the senior center. They have free guitars to use. I tried it once and couldn't seem to be comfortable with how large the guitar was. I couldn't wrap my arms around it, lol. I'm going back tomorrow to try it again after someone told me they missed seeing me there.

When I was 12 years old my mom told me I was going to die at 69 years old because of a heart problem I had when I was born. (The doctor at that time told her I would die at 69.) At 12 I was asked to live with dying at 69 while growing up at the same time.

I decided life was just a series of days, and took each day as it came. Sixty-nine came and went and I am still here. I sure wish I'd had died when I was told I would and had planned to.

So here we are, just ticking off the days as they come until we go. In the mean time I am not going to worry about something that may or may not happen. It's too late for that. I guess I will just have to live long enough to be a problem for society. In the mean time, enjoy your today. Today is all you can be sure about.

They have a number of guitars now that are not full size that sound amazing. I saw one that was 75% the size of a regular acoustic guitar. It was really nice to hold and play. They also have a number of guitars that are not as wide as the traditional guitars. They too are a good option. If I recall correctly, I saw some for less than $200 online that were smaller guitars.

Probably visit Alaska ... the last frontier has always eluded me ... that would have been wonderful.
Have been to Canada, but never too far inland.

Over several years managed to visit and tour 49 of our 50 states (by car) .... every big city, national park & attraction.
It was such a great experience .... and a two week vacation flying to the Hawaiian islands.

Thank you for the information! Today, I went to the center and they gave me one of those big guitars. Others had bought their own and were using them. One of the ladies had bought hers at a pawn shop. It was smaller than the one they gave me. So I will be looking for one that is smaller and easier to handle.
