Online banking, anyone manage to do this?

US gov Treasury Direct is the sole possible to buy US BONDS, especially TIPS and ibonds.
Currently only i-bonds require using Treasury Direct, TIPS and other treasury bonds can be purchased through investment companies like Fidelity (in addition to through Treasury Direct).

Same with the electric bill, I got to pay it- no choice, at least autopay doesn't forget.
And for credit cards it is even better when they are set up to pull the payment automatically, because they wait til the very due date. No way would I ever risk that if I was paying the bill on my own, I always paid early so it wouldn't accidentally arrive after the due date and cause interest penalties.

About autopay. I used to feel that it was ME that paid the bills. I didn't want somebody else taking money out of my account. Then I thought that I had to pay the trash guy every month. I need the service. So what's the difference in me authorizing the payment or let autopay do it. Same with the electric bill, I got to pay it- no choice, at least autopay doesn't forget. Now, that I have my cell phone, I do all my banking on it. Unfortunately, I know how it is to get yanked out of your home and get stuck in a hospital for a long while, you're not going to any bank.
Good points FB. I've had bills on auto pay for years. At first I had the credit card bills paid from my main checking set for a certain amount but since I always PIF, I'd have to go in and adjust every month. For my sake and those of my son and oldest grandson, I started having each credit card company withdraw the full balances from their ends. It's much easier and more efficient. Like you pointed out..I won't have to worry if I have to be hospitalized.

My credit cards, streaming services, utility and cell phone and Legal Shield bills are all on auto pay, some for 20 years and I've never had a problem. Only one bill is not on auto pay and that's my carrying charges (aka HOA fees) because there's no system for it. My son knows to write a check before the 10th of the month. I've never had any problems with auto pay in all these years. @RadishRose
