Open windows or not?

I open the windows when the weather is nice. I don’t sleep with them open because of my allergies and asthma. I also don’t open them when it’s windy.

I always have to have fresh air coming in from outside. I've never completely closed a window. I'm not claustrophobic, I feel it's unhealthy for several people to be in a room without fresh circulating. I go over a buddies house sometimes and he's never opened a window. I can only stay a short time. How many people prefer open or closed?
I let fresh air in most days. I never go anywhere or have company though. It's wise to open the window!

Open. The only time the windows are properly closed is in the very cold weather. I have a couple of friends who live in bungalows and I always think that the one thing I would dislike about bungalows is that you cannot have the windows open all the time.

I guess I'm the only one, who keeps the windows shut. In winter, I'm not wasting fuel keeping the furnace going, and also keeping a window open. In summer, I'm not jacking up the AC and leaving widows open to let in heat and humidity. Most homes are no where sealed tight, and allow enough air to circulate to avoid suffocation. If it's nice out, I'll open windows. But I think using energy to cure the effects of having an open window is rather wasteful.

I crack a window in the bedroom on winter nights as the rest of the family likes the house a bit too warm for me.
And, when the weather is nice, we turn off the air and open all windows.

Windows open ..absolutely.... I don't have AC so it's the way to keep the house cool in summer or on hot days...like today, I have every window in the house open, and the back door ... but even when it's not hot , I always have the bathroom windows open.. and I crack the window open here in my office room

I keep windows shut during winter, but when it warms up like recently, I open up. The sun shines broadside to the house and warms the inside up, so I'll run an exhaust fan to draw the evening air in. Opening windows this time of year and hearing the birds chirping away is a welcome change from winter.

Not possible in the vast SFBA urban region I live at if unguarded with myriad property crime oriented persons searching for smallest cracks in residence defenses to steal from. Sad reality about the awful state of the world we live in versus when I grew up and a major factor for the current political change turmoil.

Thus the wise person owning material possessions others might want, especially those that can be traded in for liquid cash, ought carefully defend what they have. What I and others can do, is open windows or doors at residences when there are defending people there at the time. But when such residences are unoccupied, especially for days...NO.

I have the windows open as much as possible. In cold weather when the furnance is still running I'll close my bedroom door at night so I can sleep with the window open a bit but not cool down the entire house. I love the fresh air but also the sounds of the night, peeper frogs, raccoons, coyotes, owls, sometimes I can even hear a train whistle even though the tracks are probably seven miles away.
