Opera day February 8th

First opera aria I heard was when my Mother played this for me… I was six years old. A few years later she arranged for me to have lessons

First aria I sang in public…didn’t sound as wonderful as Cecilia. However I did come first in the Eisteddfod…and many other lovely things followed!

I love this singer…and I love the Vienna Opera House..

To all Opera lovers….❤️❤️❤️

Dear me. Opera isn't my favorite, although I usually like the overtures and could listen to Kiri Te Kanawa and Frederica von Stade all day long even if all they sing is the alphabet song.

I'm gonna fly on over to the kite thread, which is probably more my speed for spring🪁

Not a HUGE opera fan, but a medium opera fan.....There are the popular arias I love and never tire of. They're popular for a reason.

Turandot and Carmen are two of my favs.

From Turandot... watch closely at his face toward the end...Stops my heart!

"Nessun dorma" (Italian: [nesˌsun ˈdɔrma]; English: "None shall sleep") is an aria from the final act of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot and one of the best-known tenor arias in all opera.

Years ago, I went to the opera regularly....
mostly because I got free tickets to the opera, symphony and ballet because of my job.

I love the great arias but I'll have to admit I often found it hard to sit through an entire opera.

I actually was in an opera once in college. I was a leper. I didn't sing, though, just moaned a lot. I am a good moaner, I'll have to say.....
