When I have ordered food for delivery I have mainly used Instacart which delivers from my local grocery store. Been happy with it, especially over the winter when I am not always comfortable driving. Also, hard to carry a lot of stuff in with my walker.
So, today I ordered from Walmart..as they have a couple food items I cannot get from my grocery store. They do not use Instacart....have their own order system. I asked around here. Some people like Walmart delivery, some do not. So, I figured I would form my own opinion. I do not like going into Walmart often as parking is harder, and they do not always have enough of the mart carts available..some times 2 or three in the store. I cannot get around well enough without the mart cart.
Ordered for delivery tomorrow...so I will see how it goes

I have ordered food to be delivered but only 2 or 3 times in my life when I couldn't get out.. I prefer to go and choose my own food.. but I absolutely understand your reasoning being disabled, that it is much more of a Viable option.. than to go by yourself an struggle around getting exhausted..

I have just been gifted a £100 digital voucher for Tesco.... as part of my Life Insurance policy... and as it's digital, I presume I'm going to have to spend it online.. so at some time in the future I'll have to do another home shopping..

I only recently renewed my Walmart+ membership, not entirely happy with it, but... the workers that 'pick' your order are Walmart employees... here in rural Kentucky are outsourced folk. One thing I always make sure and do, is to 'decline' substitutions. If what I'm ordering is 'unavailable' do not choose an alternate item. another thing I find difficult, is that their customer service call center is offshore. sometimes good help is hard to find. It's rural here and there's not enough options...

I’ve never used a delivery service. The order and pickup has been 9/10. They set up a special pickup area so there’s no worry about parking. Everything has been fresh and very rarely is an item unavailable. They do a substitute which you can refuse if it’s acceptable.

Since they keep giving a $20 deduction when you spend $75, I suspect that they’re going to start charging. They just want to get us addicted to the service. It’s easy to spend $75. If I don’t have quite enough, I add extra staples like V8, etc.

I hope it turns out to be a great experience for you, @Marie5656 . I haven't had delivery from them yet, but we've been doing curbside pickup there for a few years now. We started because of the pandemic but loved it so much that we just continued. Most things lately have been in stock and their substitutions are always good ones. Nothing's been missing yet either. That's how it is here, too, @Jules ... and I love the curbside pickup. Now what we *don't* have is the $20 deduction! My order is always over $75 and that would be great to get $20 back, but no such luck.

I hope the delivery service goes well for you, Marie. I wish I had it here, I'm just too far out....I have used their pick up service and have been happy with it, I found that many times on their substitutions they would send a more expensive item and not charge more....anyway good luck with it.

My daughter organized grocery delivery from a local chain. The groceries are delivered to the door - milk, fresh produce, meat - I am a diabetic and do not buy prepared foods, baked goods or snacks.

I haven't used their delivery but I have used the pickup service since the pandemic. I actually don't have to pickup up as my son passes Walmart on his way home and picks it up for me. I have always liked their substitutions.

I have the Walmart plus membership. I use it when I don't feel well, when the weather is bad, both winter and summer. I also mark it for no substitutions. They used to give you a higher price/larger size package for the same costs. At least here, that has stopped, they charge the price the more expensive item. I would rate the service at 8/10.

I am too far out to get their (WM) delivery service but have been picking up my orders since the start of the pandemic. Overall I have been happy with it. Any problems I have had have been recent and I hope are just one offs.

I will be interested to see how it goes for Marie since it's her first delivery. I haven't ordered delivery yet although I've been using pickup since the pandemic as some others have said. No doubt I will need to order that way sometime.

I rotate between Walmart, King Soopers and Safeway since each one has things I like. I can choose my substitutes when I order. All 3 stores offer that. I really like pickup at all of the stores.

I've been unhappy with the way a product was handled but not very often at all. Most of the pickers are older teens and they do a surprisingly good job.

I use Instacart for groceries and of course, Walmart is not available. Aldi's and Price Chopper only here. Walmart does not do home delivery here.........yet. I am hoping they will. Can't wait to hear how your order turns out! Hope it is good.

I do Walmart curbside pickup and refuse all substitutions, because I've had some absurd substitutions in the past, and now they charge the higher price for a substitution. I don't mind a higher price, and I sometimes buy a higher priced product, but only because it's better than the generic, which is seldom.

Well....got the stuff. Estimated delivery between 12 and 1 Arrived at 12:15. I met him in the lobby of the building and he brought it upstairs for me. I had ordered a 24 pack of water and he even put it in my pantry for me.
So, good
I like it, too. I only used it a couple times when I lived at the apartments. I'll probably use it again, but now that my sister's living with us, she does the shopping whenever I'm not feeling up for it. Plus there's a very nice grocery store just a few blocks away.

Oh, that's interesting... my substitutions have always been excellent. My store is still not charging the higher price for the subs although I know most are. Best sub I ever got was ordering a $10 small pack of salmon and getting a huge $32 bag of much higher quality salmon.

Glad to hear it went well, Marie. I will try it sometime when I don't want to go out.

The most memorable substitution I ever got was a 5 lb pack of hash browns in place of a 1 lb pack. I think I still have some of them in the freezer. 5 lbs is a whole lot of hash browns.
