FB has been hacked, almost everyone my friends, family... and myself just a bummer...I locked my info for the most part, just be careful ya all. Hugs

How are they compromising your safety?

I can't speak about FB but I once spent half a day trying to prove to Twitter X I was not a bot. It's true the bot invasion is everywhere.

PEOPLE on Social Media are getting out of hand. Social Media is just a platform/venue.

I've gotten malware by clicking links in Messenger supposedly sent by my cousin.

I avoid messenger.

Then there are some people who are malware spreaders just because they're unaware of what to be suspicious of. (Like my cousin.)

I guess I’ve been lucky, I’ve never had a problem.

Many of my family and friends seem to have problems because they participate in so many online games, surveys, contests, etc…

I see more and more people setting up fake FB accounts, assuming that will provide some protection. I’m not sure if it makes a difference.

Sometimes I think we feel it more than younger folks because it’s not a threat that we grew up with.

I know people who've been hacked on FB, but it didn't cause any of them to leave . As far as I know, I've never been hacked. I have two factor identification on my account. I honestly don't know if that helps to keep FB accounts safe or not. One must also be careful about clicking certain links, usually strange ones in Messenger pretending to be from friends and accepting certain "friends" requests.

Dangerous are forums that paddle software keys and reverse engineered applications. Avoid these.

Heads up...(or thanks for the concern), however one chooses to term it. I thought the intent pf the post was quite obvious and that is to warn us to be careful when on other forums that are unsafe. Facebook (aka Meta) has an awful lot of hacked profiles. Instagram is part of FB, so that probably gets hacked too. It is said that TikTok, under current control, harvests user information and that's why the government was trying to ban it here in America. I don't understand why the confusion!
