I wish there was a way other than reading what it says on a menu if the food you are ordering is completely gluten-free. My daughter has a problem with gluten in her food and she went to a restaurant yesterday and ordered from the gluten-free menu and went home sick as anything. I wish they had a tester she could carry with her to make sure she doesn't get sick.

Oh dear, that is bad Sassycakes, when your daughter gets better,
she should go back and complain to the "Owner" of the place and
not the "Chef", unless he/she is the owner, it seems that the chef
used a wrong ingredient in her food, perhaps accidentally, or on
purpose to cover a shortage.

I certainly would be making enquiries as to how it happened.

I hope that your Daughter gets better quickly.

Mike.

That's a shame! So I take it their gluten free menu is not reliable. I hope that once she's better, she'll complain to the manager if she hasn't (or you haven't) done it already. I hope she will feel better real soon.

I used to order catering for a big group at work tried to have every based covered including gluten free...
many places had a little mark that had GF leaf or bubble by the menu item ............ Then in the fine print on bottom of various menu ..........
It said GF was gluten friendly........ not gluten free...

There is a big difference between your daughter who gets sick
and then others who may just have a sensitivity and small amounts do not phase them.
