Our mask mandate was lifted. People are so happy.

I rode about 200 miles today , going through a good number of towns, and only saw one mask. Lots of friendly, smiley faces with strangers being almost neighborly. Losing those face diapers is giving people a major boost in spirit.

People seem to be nicer, more helpful and happier here too. It pleasant to talk because you can hear people better. I've had more conversations in the past two days than in the previous 13 months.

Just an anecdote: We had a well-meaning family member send us enough masks to last years. Most of them were of the type where the covid molecules could go through like a mosquito goes through a picket fence. We got rid of them today with the better ones going to a thrift shop. They were all made in China.

Somebody was making a bundle off that mask mandate.
