We have something very similar in my area twice a year. They call it spring and fall cleanup. The city goes to certain neighborhoods each day of the cleanup and picks up acceptable items from the curb. A lot of the items disappear over night due to the ‘pickers’ who drive through the neighborhoods after dark.
