this is the road outside the park it's only one car wide...

it's in a residential area, and the first house I lived in when I moved to England 50 years ago .. is on the other side of the gates..
..and this is part of the wild flower meadow memorial garden in the church graveyard where my friends' brother is buried and we visited there today...

..all these places are within walking distance of each other...

Thank you Kat... I live on the north side of the park, and when I moved here to this area aged 19 we lived on the West side of the park, and I would walk through the woods and the park to get to work in the town centre...every day. It's all downhill until you arrive at the park and town..etc..

Now where I live on the North side, I have another park and woodland with lakes right behind my house.. so in essence I have 2 very beautiful areas with me in the middle..lol... the tragedy is that they've taken 1/2 of the woodland behind my house in the last 2 /3 years and built 400 houses on it...

I've posted many times the woods next to my house and the lake.. just a small wild meadow lake... not a river as there is in the Park I was at today..but the woods are where I post my bluebell photos from... you may remember.. these were taken in early May

I can walk to the park and river in 20 minutes..or drive in 5 ... or the one behind my house is just a 5 minute walk...

The swans on the lake remind me of St. James Park. Those blue flowers remind me of Texas bluebonnets that cover everything in the desert in spring.

Beautiful pix.
The swans are a feature on every river and lake in the UK.. never see a river without them tbh.... Unlike your desert flowers. our bluebells tend to just grow in the shade of the woods...
