Outer Banks of N.C. Being Evacuated

According to aviation weather, it appears there’s no threat at this time along the east coast. High Surf is a threat to the OBX area. I would also expect rip tides as a possibility.

Thank you, Mike. My kids are all helping to prepare my house for the Hurricane and giving me shelter in Asheville. My house is newly and totally rebuilt on one of the highest elevations on this barrier island and passed all inspections by the state so I'm sure it will be okay.

If not, my insurance payments are up to date and my son-in-law is a contractor. He and my daughter are staying on the island so I'm concerned about them but this isn't their first time.

My neighbor called me and said everyone around has left except my renters. Some people get a thrill experiencing a hurricane. She said they eat out alot and there's no waiting in line at the restaurants lol.

I wish you the best. Asheville is a nice place to weather the storm despite it's recent flooding. I envy your high elevation. When we were thinking of retiring on the Outer Banks I thought all those rooftop decks were a great idea. They could work elsewhere for mountain views, etc.
I hope your family stays safe.
