Over 3,100 Tech Jobs Lost In Bay Area This Year

279 layoffs from Yahoo contributed to the 3,100 plus tech jobs lost the first quarter this year in the San Francisco Bay Area. One worry is that the job loss from small firms may not being reported and the problem is even larger. Only 800 new tech jobs were created so far.

Sure glad I moved out of Santa Clara county when I did. I think I have lived much better by moving around the country and working for one company most of the time. Unfortunately a couple personal friends did get quite rich while still living there. My new home back then cost me $14,500 and today it will sell for over $350,000. Maybe I should have kept it, but I did sell it when I left. California is so high cost these days I wonder how anyone can move there and do any good for themselves.
