Overnite e-mail from ATT,

and it says my info for account was comprimised with the latest
hack into ATT, so advised to set up free monitoring and all that stuff...sure
get tired of this, every year it seems.....
This is exactly what the scam/phish emails I get say. My PayPal was hacked. My Amazon was hacked. On and on... some of my things that "were hacked" are places I never even had an account with. Did you say "overnight email?" Uh... ???? I seriously wouldn't touch that link, Hawky.
EDITING to say: Okay, seems as if there really was an ATT breach, but I still wouldn't click an email link... I'd contact them directly from their website. Seems as if the data was released on the dark web. :(

There was an AT&T data breach. Here's the article in Alabama news today ...
AT&T data breach: What AT&T is offering data breach victims

Not to say scammers aren't using the event as an opportunity to exploit ... just that YES, there was a data breach that is said to affect 7.6 million current customers and 65.4 million former customers.

Rather than respond directly to an email unless I was 100% sure it was from AT&T, I'd look to their official website for advice and instruction.

Co-incidently maybe, but strange, my 2013 excel program
on the desktop computer and the 2013 word program are
refusing to open !?!?! i just used them yesterday...!!!!

I received a letter in the mail AND an email about changing my passcode. I didn't click on the email link but went to the MyAT&T web site that I have used before with a bookmark and logged in there. I couldn't get past the point where they were asking for the last 4 digits of my SS number and my mailing zip code. It was telling me my information was incorrect. I gave them the correct information so I don't know what they have. I just canceled and logged out. If it's going to be that difficult to change, I will just forget about it.
