Pain at the left side of my abdomen has any relation to 'Degenerative Disk' at the left of my spine?

Hello:
For the past 10 - 12 months, there is an on-and-off pain at the bottom left side of my abdomen. Last fall, my GP sent me 'CT-Scan' that indicated 'an accumulation of feces' at the sigmoid colon. He told me take 'milder form of laxative' made of herb/vegetales. It has been working well, however I still have a very faint pain around the same area, 'bottom left side of my abdomen, particularly when laying 'flat' on the bed during sleep.

I have 'lower back pain/degenerative disc' at the left side of my spine, however it is not significant to get surgery done, nor need an injection. I've been taking Tylenol along with Heating-Pad, both of which alleviates the pain most of days.

Any inputs on this would be truly appreciated.

Thanks,

A colonscopy would rule out any problem of the sigmoid colon.

I had my sigmoid colon removed. The doctors then pull down the colon, attach it to the rectum, and you have a new sigmoid colon section. After they did that, it failed again. Removed, pulled down the next section. Sigh. Now the section above the new sigmoid colon has fallen inside it (difficult to explain). I hate my colon, lol. The whole thing is failing.

If you have a herniated disc, it can cause pain in the lower abdomen as well, but I would suspect if that were the case you would have a great deal more pain.
