My close friend of 40 years has a 26 yo old son who,at the age of 14,was playing "shooters" with his friends. Shooters is kind of like a blowdart I guess you could sayin this case they were using those long,fancy toothpicks with the cellophane "ruffles" on top-although I`m thinking they had removed the ruffles. Anyway,they were "blowing" them at each other through a drinking straw. Well,he inhaled and the toothpick went right down his throat. He felt fine and didn`t tell his mom until the next day when he started having a belly ache. She took him to the ER but they couldn`t find anything on xray or MRI. He made several more trips to the ER in the following month due to belly pain but they couldn`t find anything. Finally they realized that they had to open him up. They actually removed all of his intestines and went through them but still found nothing. And then the surgeon decided to do it one more time and there it was,lodged in his intestine,setting up quite an infection. He bounced right back to health after it was removed,with only a very large scar to show for it.
