It seems to get worst every Xmas, few years ago they had these little twisted tie wraps that were quite easy to remove by hand or scissors.

Now they are tied with thick plastic tie wraps that require a wire cutter to cut after you get thru the scotch tape that's covering that tie wrap.

Once you find that tie wrap you have to cut it from the back of the package to avoid damaging the toy.(God help you if accidentally cut Batman's arm off)

Once you remove that part then you have to deal with the thick plastic bubble that these piece are inside of and that required a scalpel.

Next you have to figure out where this damn pieces (8) goes on the set ,if you try to read the instructions THEN you have to go thru 5 or 6 folded pages to find the English language section. What the hell is Mapudungun language?

Just about set now, just need to put the batteries in...oh wait(chit) I gotta go find a small Phillip screwdriver to get this cover open. OH JC!!! 6 AAA batteries and one 9 volt?? My car is only 12 volts.

Finally you give the assembled toy back to the 7 year old and while you peacefully open your own presents THEN for some strange reason after 5 minutes of playing with this brand new assembled toy,the kid with a sad face again ask "Papa Can you put this one together too?"

Isn't that the truth?! Is all that so no one can steal it or part of it from the store??? It would take an hour to get a piece out, for heaven's sake; I have a hard enough time opening a soda these days, let alone those toys. :p

LOL - been there, done that, Davey!

They sell a special tool for opening those "clamshell" packages, but I've always made do with my folding knife and a lot of Band-Aids.

And of course, they do all this because of shoplifters. Like their bottom line is so threatened by stolen Batmen ...

The gadget invented to open those indestructible and tamper proof plastic toy coffins comes in an indestructible and tamper proof plastic coffin of it's own that requires the contents you can't get at to open. I believe they are trialling a new exterior tag for them that incorporates a more accessible bubble containing 2 free Valium tablets.

Got a hair trimmer from Amazon the other day and started to open it as it was in a blister pack. Let's see, the shears cut it a little, but it am causing little sharp edges and sure enough, I got a small finger cut.
OK....I have an Exacto knife that should work. Wife sees me and says,"if you cut that on my countertop, your dead meat."

next, i bebop out to the junk, I mean work shop. Put said package into vice and start cutting with tin shears. Ah, got one side almost open and can squeeze out the adapter. But, the other parts are still in their little section which I have not got open yet.

Now, i'm really getting pis---, I mean frustrated. Hacksaw, nah. vice grips, nah, throw the damn thing out, nah, cost to much. So, last chance before my BP explodes. I must do something.......Finally, and I hate to admit it guys but I asked my wife if she would help me get the package open. She left with said package and came back soon afterwards and handed me my trimmer. I don't know how she opened it or don't care how she did it. All I know is that I have my trimmer and damnit......NEXT TIME I WILL GO TO THE BARBERSHOP !!!!

LOL; Davey, I was thinking of the ginger ale bottles that it takes a plier to open...even the granddaughter has a hard time; and we usually take our stuff to them to open. :p

Dont get me started on those tab pull offs on soda cans.
