Paper Calendars

Both my husband and I use the ipad calendars and have the Family link to enter significant items from our calendars with each others. Because our calendars are also linked to our phones, if we‘re out and need to look up availability for an appointment, it’s easy and entered right away.

There are a variety of other calendars I can turn on. Birthdays, travel, etc. When we travelled, it was my diary. It also sends an alert about birthdays or appointments.

I have a frame in the kitchen for the big calendar - I like the scenic pics
The fridge has a calendar attached to a magnet - all appointments, son's work times, garbage/yard waste, dentist/doctor and dining out with people are listed
I have a bird calendar in the master bedroom bathroom
A Beatles calendar in the family/tv room downstairs
The calendar on my phone has everything the fridge calendar has as well as personal appts. for me
I would be lost without my paper calendars!

A sorta diary, eh?
Do you ever look at the history?

Reason I ask is, I pretty much did the same thing
then
it dawned on me..... nobody looks at this.....not even me
Actually, I did this for my whole life. When I was younger I did more things so I always bought calendars with big blocks. And yes, I did go back and look at them over the years. Sometimes it was because someone had died or was out of my life and I liked looking at what we did together. It was only recently that I took a big box of calendars that went back to the 70's and put them in the dumpster. I figure they were of no interest to anyone but me and I have to get rid of stuff.

The reason I do it now is because I need to remember when I did something last or when I last saw my son. It has been helpful.

Yes, I didn't think I would on my travels so I threw all my paper calendars away when I set out on my journeys, but I missed having a paper calendar so later bought one from Amazon that has a magnetic strip to hold it on the hotel refrigerator.

I also have a calendar app pinned on the taskbar of this chromebook and I use it for a birds eye view of the whole year.

Although I have not been using the google calendar app, this thread motivated me to look at it. Turns out my phone and email are coordinated with the google calendar and it is already populated with my reminders and my hotel reservations.

yes, one on my desk where I jot down little things I do each day. have several years worth. when there is a crime I can tell you were I was for the last 15 years.
Is it the large desk one? I have one of those, and by the end of the year, I add it to a pile of calendars. I could literally go back (and have done so) to check on dates, like when I bought or ordered something, etc. I even use it to remind me when to pay bills, etc. I always check it daily. I am happy with it. The calendar wall ones' boxes are too small to write in.

Well..... I imagine that was quite a load.
I've done the same, then thought wonder if the great grands would've found interest.....and some fam history.

So glad you review yours

I have 2 paper calenders. I always get them near the later part of the year from non profit agencies. I don't put anything on them anymore nor do I use electronic calenders. Instead I make handwritten notes of my appointments and also things I need to do.

I do hang the calenders up though because I like the nice pictures.

I print the 12 months letter size off my computer for free and keep in a soft three ring binder from the dollar store.
I also got the little punch for the holes in dollar store.
When the month is done file it at back behind December. With printer paper there is enough room to file two years .
I have found that a boon more than once in the last couple of years.
I also have daily reminders on computer but really prefer to have paper calendar as opposed to one on the computer.

I have always had a paper calendar, of which I buy a nice one for my calendar frame every year, always of birds.
Never use my phone for that.
I never write on my calendars……have a place for appointments, etc……out where I see them……every Sunday I put the ones coming up for the week to the front.
