Pathological and compulsive liars. What are your experiences?

I smiled to myself as I read your last sentence, then quickly became acutely aware of where this type of point you made comes from. I used to say to myself, regarding the person I mentioned earlier in this thread, that if she were to tell me what day tomorrow is, I would want to check on a calendar to make sure.
I couldn't understand that some of the things she lied about were so silly. Why would you lie about something so inconsequential, things nobody ever cared about?

It seems that over time some pathological liars may become so accustomed to lying that it becomes their default mode of communication. This behaviour becomes ingrained in the individual's personality, leading them to lie habitually.

Some may crave attention and admiration from others, and use lies as a means to garner interest and sympathy. Inventing stories on every scale to the exceptionally serious down to the most inconsequential so they can draw people into their world of make belive to fulfil their emotional needs.

We can come across them in every walk of life, including online where it might be easier for them to hide behind and mask their deceit.

One I came across seemed to become quite annoyed with me as she seemed to start to give the impression it was unfair of me to not give her the opertuniny/time to come up with lies to cover existing lies. The person can then become verbally aggressive and they will continue to be consistent in trying to convince you they are telling the truth. Right up to the point where they then see that they can't deceive you anymore. They then cut you off and move on to others.
