Paws Crossed, Another Interview

Well Best Buy is tolerable. Except for the early hour it's not bad at all really. Now an interview tomorrow for a second job. Welcome to today's economy, cobbling together two or three jobs to make 40 hours. But it's the way it works now. But wouldn't that be nice if two will get me at least close.

Interesting too how different the BB environment is. The last store I was in became a sinking ship. Store sales were down, people were being let go regularly, the old timers feared being next...all possible overtime was eliminated. But even before then they micro-managed.

At BB you can take a break or use the bathroom when needed. If your project is going to take twenty minutes...an hour...after you're scheduled to leave, just finish it and then punch out. The other store and cashiers would have to beg to use the bathroom. Breaks were time enforced to the minute...and even then they'd accuse you of being lazy.

Maybe it was time for me to move on after all...miss the dental insurance though...oh well, maybe tomorrows job?

Good Luck. Make sure you can schedule for two jobs. Every time I've had multiple jobs sooner or later there are conflicts. I've had some employers tell me drop the other job. I ignored them, told them unless you want to increase my hours, pay or give out regular overtime I can't do it. Even though the employer ignored it I wound up with too many close calls and had to drop one job.

Fur, I guess I was asleep at the switch or something -- I thought you were working at the book store, not Best Buy??

Good luck with the interview Fur!. I didn't realize that BB wasn't full time. I hope this works out for you. My attempts to find a part-time job have been futile. I'm glad to see that someone is getting their foot in the door.
