Due to severe drought in England, chinese peapods or snow peas are out of stock in many restaurants in areas
including mine. This is my favorite Chinese vegetable and I have
eaten it with beef, chicken, shrimp and alone, and is lifelong habit. So I am astonished that it is a scarce
item now. Peapods do not taste like peas. The tiny peas are crunchy, not juicy like sweet peas, that I hate.
You heard the expression 3 peas in a pod? Exactly. Not the same flavor in stores. They are very perishable and expensive
I am told by Chinese owners.
So scarcity in some nations and most of US. A culinary emergency!!
