Peace and quiet and attention

It was so nice not to have to listen to both ends of phone conversations that other people were having while I was trying to eat dinner, and it was so nice to have people I meet on these sites to be concentrating on me rather than answering their phones. Definite turn-off when they prefer their phones to me.

Yes, this is a major social problem. My feelings on this is that people who do this are rude, unfeeling people who have no manners and certainly don't deserve any friends. I remember a real estate person once came to our house and was about to leave. He received a call and kept standing beside me & my wife for about 5 minutes yaking away while we just waited. There are call waiting and answer recording systems so these idiots don't have to be so rude. I'm not surprised that loneliness is a major problem because a lot of these people just have no manners. To show that they are chained to their electronic toys and that these toys are more important than human contact is a pretty sad reflection on our society. I have learned, over the years, just to walk away from these "electronic slaves." My time is valuable too!

And, if it had been I, that real estate agent would never again have graced my home.
