Peacock streaming.

I already have Roku on one TV, went to get the app of Peacock. It is out today. Well, it wasn't there. If you have Roku or Amazon, or Firestik on you TV you won't find Peacock listed as an app to get because it isn't available for you. I have an iPhone and I got the Peacock on my phone and can watch most anything on it for free. I am not going to subscribe to Peacock, just get what is free.
 

I have friends who are really upset that they can't get Peacock on their Roku - yet. I have a Sony smart TV (android platform) and was able to download the Peacock TV app from the Google App store on the TV. I found enough content to set up a sizable watch list. I intended to just watch whatever was on their free tier but Google sent me a code to redeem for three months of free premium tier content. That tier has more content and full seasons of shows for binge watching.

I went immediately that morning to see if I could get it on my Roku, notta. Not there. So, I went to my iPhoneX and got it, and on my computer, got it. So, I guess I will have to buy a smart tv? I typed in Peacock in the search and it could not find it.

Oh well, you need to try Roku. All you do is buy the stick, plug it into the tv, set your internet connection, and view the apps to choose from. Now, some will require you to have cable or they will charge their own fees, tget are bit akk free, Enjoy.

There free movies, series, sometimes channels like on Pluto app, cooking shows, car shows, etc.
 
I have an early model Samsung SmarTv. I can get other streaming services, and YouTube. As well as some free aps. No Peacock. Seems it is only on Tablets, laptops and phones. I do not like watching TV shows on these devises. So, I am out. Plus I do not think there would be anything of interest to me. I kind of wish I could get the Apple TV on my television though. Seems to have interesting content
 
NBC and Roku are currently negotiating. I am sure it will appear on Roku soon. Same thing happened when HBO Max rolled out. It wasn't available on Roku for a couple of days but is now on there. Ten years ago I really had high hopes for the streaming platform but now that it is replacing the cable market, money and greed has ruined my idealistic vision of what a "streaming" world would be like.

We have 2 Rokus; I just haven't tried to find Peacock on them.

I am like you, I can get it on my laptop and my iPhone, but don't like to watch movies streaming on either thing. Maybe in a week or two, it will appear on Roku. Give it some times.
 
Found this...From June 17th it looks as though there's download instructions for the Roku of Peacock on the website.
Will Peacock be available on Roku

As of now, there is no official announcement regarding Peacock TV on Roku. Right now, This service is available only on the Xfinity X1 and Xfinity devices. Also, Peacock TV has reached agreements with Apple and Microsoft. You can watch on devices like Apple TV, Xbox One, and more. NBC has not reached deals with Roku, Amazon, and Google. But the source says that Peacock will be available on Roku from launch.

I do not have ROKU or Fire. Mine is a first generation, before any of the other services. There are not a lot of new options on it. I am fine though. I have gotten Netflix, Prime and Hulu, before I canceled them. And I get You Tube. I can sit and watch THAT for hours. I do not feel I am missing anything.

Well, you are not missing much, just more choices. Sounds like you are happy with what you have, and you have ventured out with those others so you know what you want.
 
Well, I looked at the Peacock offerings and I have to say it looks like "rerun central." Most old TV series, old movies, etc. I definitely would NOT pay $4.95 a month for it, but it's free with our cable. I doubt I will ever bother with it again.
 
We replaced our ROKU with Firestick. There are times when trying to watch a streaming movie is impossible. It takes forever to load, with lots of buffering. Not much of an improvement in my experience.

What’s the deal with HBO Max? How does it differ from HBO?

Well, if you don't like to pay for cable, like I did at one time-not pay for cable- you need an antenna on the window and get Roku or Firestik and have internet for streaming. I at one time, had an antenna, Roku, and internet. I could watch most everything you could on Roku that you could on cable at a greatly reduced price! Any series, movies, HGTV, foodnetwork, and you just name it. You're just not held to a regular week, day schedule that shows come on certain days/nights. You can watch the show you want to watch when you want to watch it.

Try the Roku, similar, but better in my opinion.

Not sure what you mean by antenna on the window.

I had a firestik and it seemed to have just as much as the Roku, you basically get to just choose the apps you want. Some of the apps have channels and some are a bigger selection of movies and the like. I chose Sling Orange and Blue along with my Roku so I had to pay for those along with the many, many apps to choose from. I love Pluto because of the channels on it.
