Peeking Down the Rabbit Hole, a new discussion group.

As some of you here will remember; I have always enjoyed conspiracy theories, and I have just asked SeaBreeze for permission to start a new group on this topic.
It will cover just about any kind of presumed conspiracy, government cover-up, hoax, and even things like Hollow Earth, parallel universes, is earth a hologram,
Geocentricity, and whatever else anyone wants to (politely) discuss.
Since most people don't want to hear about conspiracies, and probably believe that people like Alex Jones and David Icke are bonkers; there is no reason to put these discussions out where disinterested people have to read them, and then announce that anyone who believes this is delirious.
This group will be private (although it probably helps with SEO for the forum ?), and it is certainly not for everybody, although everyone is welcome to come and peek down the rabbit hole and see what we are talking about down there; but please, please don't join unless you actually want to put on your tinfoil hat and be involved in the discussion.

I haven't thought about these topics lately, very interesting. Is the Paranormal part of it. Also, I don't know what SEO means. Would you please clarify that..thanks.:)

There is actually already a paranormal group; so we won't overlap with them, at least most of the time we should not. I can possibly see something like discussion of parallel universes or even Mandela Effect being okay for either group; so it could happen sometimes.
SEO stands for search engine optimization , Ruthanne. I am not a techie type of person, but as I understand it, it can help people find this forum when doing a search for some topic.
As an example, say they were searching for Mandela Effect, then if we have a topic about that, it should come up in the search engine, and lead people to the forum. There are always a lot of people just looking at this forum; so this might catch the attention of someone who is thinking about joining, as well.
Some forums do not have a place for private groups, and then you can only post things that the majority of the forum members might be interested in, or generic topics. If you look under "community" at the top of the page, then you will see groups, and you can browse through and see which ones interest you.
You might want to check out the paranormal group if you are interested in that, by the way. It could use more action , too.

Thank you, I am aware of the groups here just forgot about the paranormal. The thing that I don't like about the group feature is that when a person in the group posts no one is notified so it can be forgotten easily as has been the case with some groups..oh well, it's all good...:sentimental:

Look at the top left corner, and you will see "new posts", and just to the right of that is "new group posts"; so it is actually as easy to check those as it is any other posts on the forum.

Wow, that must be new because before I asked about that and they said there is nothing, unless I misunderstood something. Thanks for telling me about that! Cool!

That was always there Ruthanne, I think we just told you there was no notification of new posts, that you had to click on that to see the latest ones.

Any groups I've been in never got much activity. I like the forum aspect of it and if someone doesn't like the subject they should stay out of that particular forum. That's why you don't see me in the political forums much.

Wise thoughts Iodine!:sentimental:

In theory, that should work perfectly fine, Iodine. It does work some of the time, for some of the people; it just doesn't work all of the time for every thread.
Even though there is less conversation going on in the groups, it is only people who care enough about the topic that read the threads and answer them.
It is kind of the same concept as a dog park.
Anyone that has a dog can put a leash on them and walk up and down the street with their dog; but there are also cars, bicycles, and joggers using the street.
At the dog park, the only people there are exercising their dogs, and the dogs have more freedom, and do not have to worry about being run over by a car.

I like that analogy! Cool.

We have some great new topics posted in the group. Are you interested in Time Travel, Bigfoot, or the Nazca Lines in Peru ? What about a conspiracy against former President FD Roosevelt ?
Anyone can read the threads in the group, you only have to join if you want to also be able to post in the threads.

You make a good point there HappyFlowerLady.

For anyone who is interested in the beginnings of the Hippie movement that had its origins in California back in the early 1960’s, as well as the rock bands that also emerged during that period of time, and their connection to Charles Manson and the murders in Laurel Canyon, we have a new discussion started on this topic, in the conspiracy group here, Peeking Down the Rabbit Hole.
Here is the link to the online article, if anyone wants to read it, and then maybe join in the conversation about it in the group.

Some of you may have heard about a mystery person (or persons) known online as “Q” or “Q-anon”. He (she?) posts online at a website called 4-chan, but then the messages are discussed in places like Reddit.
I have heard of 4-chan, and heard that it is not a good place to be, and apparently there is a lot of information that comes from there, some true, and some not.

In any case, this person called Q has been putting messages on the internet, and is apparently closely involved with the White House , and some people have even said they think that it might be the President himself doing this (which I doubt). So, people are naturally wondering just who this Q-anon is and where he is getting the inside information that he posts.

I just listened to an interesting conversation from Truth Frequency Radio about who Q-anon might actually be, and who is backing him.
Since it falls more into conspiracy (with possible political undertones), I have posted the video in the conspiracy group, “Peeking Down the Rabbit Hole”.
Anyone can read the posts; but in order to write posts there, you will need to join the group.

(To find groups here, click on “community” at the top of the page, and then choose groups. )

Good idea! I'm in. Also where is the Paranormal group...I need to be there too! I haven't seen either one of these groups on the Forum page. How do I join them?

Groups like these perpetuate myths, naive thinking without sufficient or no evidence
and illogic. Some of it is fun to think about if you realize it is only
speculation---like the notion of possible worlds in science fiction. I am too skeptical
to take it seriously.
