People Still Complain About Wearing Masks.

If they had been afflicted with Leprosy in few hundred
years ago, they would be required to carry a bell and
to ring it, shouting "Unclean", when approaching other
people, I don't know when the practice stopped, it may
have continued into the 20th Century.

Mike.

This is a 17th century wooden leper Clapper.. lepers were made to carry a bell or clapper, and live on the edge of their village or town, and whenever anyone came close they would have to use the clapper , cover their mouths and shout unclean.

They were ostracised for life, once they'd been diagnosed, but the bell was not only used to warn others of their disease but also to encourage people to give them charity .

Lepers were social outcasts. People were so afraid of catching the disease because of its effects. It causes lumps on the skin and attacks the nervous system. In the worst cases it can cause disfigurement to the face, hands and feet, and muscle paralysis.

Mike, it's such an enormous imposition to wear a mask. And not to mention, some may have religious reservations about wearing a mask. Ya know, all that "love your fellow man" . And there's grave Constitutional questions about the freedom to not wear a mask. Ya know, your right to infect your fellow citizens.
lol, I have never heard it stated in quite this way..

Here's that word again, whilst these masks are not comfortable, and some are downright ugly, they do stop transmission of the virus, what percentage is something we may never know, but they are a useful tool, and, you can utter things without anyone people being able to read your lips. I give them a big 12 out of 10. :)

To be more serious and a bit of a contrarian, you'd think people would complain about wearing something over their face that inhibits breathing to some greater or lesser extent and is largely ineffective. If the latter point upsets you, see the newly-released internal memo where Fauci said what most people know (i.e. "The typical mask you buy in the drug store is really not effective in keeping out the virus"). Either that or measure the pore size of most masks as compared to the size of a covid particle. If that doesn't convice you, look at the stats between masked and unmasked areas. Of course if virtue signaling is your thing, enjoy the mask!

The subject of this thread is People Still Complain About Wearing Masks. Well, it's been 15 damn mos. of wearing them!!🤬I am totally tired of it! I went to a restaurant today and did NOT wear one. We don't have to now so if the business lets me in without one great! I still have to wear one at the bank. I have not been to any grocery store since our mask mandate was lifted so I don't know if they are still required. If I have to I will but I am totally sick of it already!

well we've been the same.. 15 months of wearing a mask, and still altho' we have had no deaths from C-19 for a whole week.. we STILL have to wear masks indoors... and still we're in semi lockdown. :(..but as I say, I would be much more ticked off if I had to wear a mask outdoors too

Yeah, outdoors would be utterly ridiculous unless in a huge crowd.
However, that said... places where we Brits would traditionally go on holiday..Portugal, Spain etc..are dishing out fines of 100 euros if masks are not worn outdoors and more specifically on the beach .

I ask you.. what would be the point of paying to fly to a country to spend time on a hot beach where you have to wear a mask ? 🤦‍♀️

I don't feel we've had to suffer much here with regard to masks... we've only ever had to wear them indoors, in shops, in malls , hospitals, etc.. but never outdoors... so as much as it's an irritation, I feel we got the best deal when it comes to wearing masks (y)
Same here.
Yeah, outdoors would be utterly ridiculous unless in a huge crowd.
At the Farmers Market, people wore masks. That’s the only outside place that I really had to wear one.

Generally people are really respectful when encountering others and maintain the distance.

Well, the experts on here have proven that masks don't work, social distancing doesn't work, vaccinations only make things worse, shut downs were unnecessary, etc. The only sound advice is to sit down in your favorite chair, put your head between you knees, and kiss your *** goodbye!! :):rolleyes::oops:

Sorry, but it was Fauci and other medical people who said masks don't work. Slamming people here for quoting them or having their own opinions wasn't really necessary. You could have made whatever opinion you had without being snide.

Yes, I made my point. Thank you for self-identifying as one of our "experts" and I believe you are the one who called wearing a mask "virtue signaling". Nothing snide about that, of course... It is perfectly clear that according to you and the other "experts", nothing works, which would explain the every increasing rate of new cases.

CDC Data tracker

p.s. Cherry picking old emails, etc, doesn't fool anyone. Well, maybe it fools you.
