People That Give Advice

Do you know anyone that is always giving advice to others, but can't solve their own problems? Why is that?
It has to do with where your focus lies. People either focus on themselves primarily or they have more of an outward focus.

Then there's the people who are looking for validation of their opinions. By sharing what they think, they get real time reaction to their ideas.

I suspect that extraverts are more prone to be advice givers since they are so outwardly focused.

Someone once pointed out to me that seeking the advice of others, you'll get what works for them but not necessarily what works for you.

Then there's Dear Abby, that's another story.

Yes. My sister.

And I think @OldFeller has it right; she doesn't see her own faults and the problems they cause. But maybe that's because she doesn't want to see them, so she focuses on other people. I know she wants to be helpful, she really does, but that's mainly because it makes her look good and feel better about herself...so it's not for the other person's sake, it's self-serving.
