Just let me know, I bring a single sided Deadbolt wid me. no key or something from hell is gonna get in cause I also have a 20V. impact driver wid me an 2 3/4" coated screws to drive into the door Jam above and below the Lock bolt. You just can't be safe enough.... I also take a heavy metal cane to use as a Directional clearing devise just in case. Ya have to stay aware of the surroundings and train your muscle memory for self defense of all your loved ones. They are jewels.

The one bathroom had two doors, neither with a lock. Lots of people in the house party. Not everyone assumes a closed door means someone is in there, especially if drunk.

Seems like you are describing a "Jack & Jill" bathroom. I hate those things! We stayed at my husband's sister's house while on vacation and she had one. So I had to remember to lock both doors when inside since neither door is near the commode. That could pose a challenge to anyone who's half asleep when getting up in the middle of the night.

For a female unless completely naked when using an unlocked bathroom is there really a problem with being seen using the toilet? What would be in view? Could be a funny story later telling party goes so & so missed an opportunity to be a perv.

For men same goes for when sitting down to take a crap. Standing unless pissing on the floor facing the door when a door opens there would time to announce being there.

I've never had a house or been in a home that had a lock on the bathroom door. This is news to me. I say if people barge in and see me using the facilities, they have gotten what they deserve.

of course when it was just me and my O/H neither locked the door, if the bathroom door was closed then one of us was in there... or we'd call out are you in there..?..

One time I was horrified to see my DD's partner sitting on the loo.. kecks down to his ankles .. door wide open..

My DD is very straight laced, so when I told her what I saw.. she shrugged it off.. I couldn't believe it..

If anyone ever walked in on her she would freak out..
