Perfection on a plate

I wouldn't have thought if this but I just got home from work. I heated up a small loin pork chop. I put it between slices of homemade bread with mustard and lettuce. Mmmmmmmmm!
Perfection on a plate.

Steak and Lobster come to mind. Steak and Eggs with biscuits and gravy. Fried Chicken. Chili Relleno casserole. See what y'all have done? Except for the baloney (IKE), you have me drooling for food I might not see for a while :(. Spaghetti with meat balls and garlic bread. Chicken Fried Steak with mashed taters and green beans. Fried Pork Chops with gravy, taters and string beans. These things are not perfection on a plate, they're perfection in my belly LOL! Don...

jus' gotta say;

I really really like this thread

Three layer spice cake with brown sugar fudge frosting, served with homemade ice cream. Enjoyed on my friend’s Queen Anne style houseboat. Perhaps some Laphroaig to wash it down? Or, once it is legal, some prime BC Bud?

Gina Lollobrigida, with a big bunch of grapes in one hand and a bacon butty in the other....:D

Wild Caught Alaskan King Salmon lightly sprinkled with Sea Salt baked for 15 minutes at 400 degrees, fresh Steamed Spinach (unsalted), and fresh squeezed lemon on both. And a side of roasted potatoes, carrots, and onions with ground pepper, sea salt, and olive oil.

If I was living in a dreamworld I'd switch out the roasted veggies with decadent fresh hot cheesy creamy scalloped potatoes.
What time should I be there? MMmmmmm

All great tasting...all bad for you!!

Yeah, that "if it tastes good, you can't have it" nonsense didn't last very long. You see, no matter what we do, we're still going to die. If you remove All the joys of living because they're bad for you, isn't that kind of like an oxymoron considering we already know coming in, we gotta go out? I don't know about you but I'd prefer things I like to take me out rather than things I don't like. Don't want to give things I don't like the satisfaction :D. Don...

I like how you think. So what is your most sinful pleasure? ...we're still talking about food :)

Pastrami, toasted with Provolone cheese, and french fries or tater chips, washed down with Wild Cherry Pepsi :playful:. Sadly, I knew we were still talking about food :). Don...

My son and I had a meal once, in Indianapolis. He was at an Air Force school in nearby Rantoul AFB and I had flown out to visit. We had visited the Museum at The Indianapolis Speedway and then went out for a meal. We each ordered the "surf and turf" and his comment was - "-I think my lobster crawled overland from the coast". It was that tough.

Live long enough, one can recall many a perfect meal.

Waaaaaay back, in my footloose days, I’d treat myself.
Not a steak, or lobster, no, very affordable.

A little ethnic deli (?) on old main in downtown Houston, a few blocks south of the North main bridge.
Several early Friday evenings would find me there.

Slices of the tenderest of roasted beef, a scoop of cole slaw and potato salad, a slice of the freshest rye bread….and the coldest of beers, on tap.

After a week of slogging in the slime and grime of the pipe yard, I’d clean up and give myself that treat.

Took my time, savoring every bite, one complimenting the other.
It was my perfect meal of the week.

Only then could I go out and get rowdy

I love taking a Ginsters pulled pork slice in my cricket picnics.Delicious!
