It's not just the news media that depicts Christians as far right wing bigots but our movies, books, and TV's. A whole generation has grown up watching Dana Carvey's Church Lady and greedy televangelists and never once attending a real church. They have no idea what really goes on in today's churches.

In Holland the christian party is quite socialist. They even made sure prostitutes would get money during covid, they stand up for gays and let them immigrate if their country is dangerous and then they say christian parties are right wing.
Oh yes I once said that I had had Bible lessons from someone who went to a Word of Faith Bible school. Word of Faith? Those are evil money grabbers!!!! They all work for free in Holland and Belgium. Except when they have a real gigantic church, but then they just get a normal income, well, except for that guy they picked up.
He does preach health and wealth and said God gave him a BMW. They don't care if the pastor goes to the food bank on a borrowed bike to serve some rich church members for free, but oh boy if he drives a BMW they'll say he's an evil charlatan.
