Pet peeves

I was reminded of a big one this morning when I went to the fridge to pack my lunch.

Ron put last night’s dinner leftovers away. That’s typically my job while he does the dishes, but routines changed last night.

He’d put the soup in a container that was three times too big. And the leftover bread loaf I’d made into a gallon ziploc when a quart size would have been enough.

It also makes me twitch when food boxes are opened from the wrong end, zipper closures are torn so you can’t zip the food item back up, when folks say PIN number instead of just PIN (the N stands for number) and when stainless steel refrigerators have finger prints and smears on them! (My daughter’s fridge omg!!!)

Aren’t I just full of complaints this morning! 😂😂😂 Little ray of sunshine, that’s me! 😇🌈

What are your pet peeves?

People that park their Giant Pickup Trucks beside me in parking lots where the spaces were designed years ago for an average size car. Need a can opener to get in/out of my car cuz I sure don't have enough room to open the door and you just have to pray someone isn't coming toward you as you slowly back out of the space because you can't see a thing with one of those behemoths blocking your view

If you are able to drive a car and very capable of easily strolling into the store, you don't need a disabled parking spot. You are very capable of parking next to the disabled section.
I undestand your frustration.. but if only physical disabilities were classed as disabilities, then people with cancer.. kidney , bowel, bladder diseases, MS.. fibromialgia .. etc.. would be in a bit of a sorry state..

People with cancer, kidney, bowel bladder disease MS and fibromialgia don't romp into stores. And if they can, they don't need a disabled space.

You know, I thought of one a few days ago, but there is no one to complain
to, except my dog, and he doesn't much care!
Now, that I have a thread in which to put it, I can't remember what it was!

Aah, A hundred years from now, it won't mean a diddley-damn anyway!
Let events of no concern pass without mention. (ha-ha-ha)

My pet peeve. I'm disabled and can't walk far at all. It irks the hell out of me when, in the "disabled" section of a parking lot a car will dive up with a "disabled plaque", and two very able people get out. And no, I'm not buying that they have some rare neurological disease- they just have a good printer.
I totally agree, I understand people have things wrong that are unseen BUT if they can walk in any establishment without a struggle which they do they do not need handicapped parking in my opinion.I see people that can barely take steps struggling to get a buggy in a parking lot and if we could help them we would but we struggle too. I then see people in a handicapped spot literately hop out or get out of their car and just stroll in without any aide at all so no I don't buy it either.

I have to admit I do get very annoyed when I see able bodied
people parking in a disabled space.
In England Blue Badges are given to people who cannot walk without the help of someone or if they are using mobility aids (that does not mean a walking stick).
Other conditions may be granted a Blue Badge upon the request of a specialist if their condition is very serious.

This wasn’t even on my radar until I had to drive my disabled 91 year old dad around and he needed a wheelchair. There aren’t many wheelchair accessible parking spots available but I try and be open minded. Half the time I was picking my dad up at the hospital who was in the wheelchair and at those times I leapt out of the car and ran. If looks could kill I’d be dead ten times over. We don’t always know the circumstances Regular parking was down the hill far away.
That’s not to say there aren’t cheeky people wanting to take any possible advantage they can. Unfortunately it happens.

I have a disabled placard, but I don't use it all the time. When I'm feeling good, I'll park in the lot and walk to my store's entrance.

But, these past few months that I've been having trouble breathing when walking due to some aortic valve problems, I've been using my card and parking right up front near the door. So, don't get mad at me....you probably wouldn't have known if I hadn't told you, right?

Oh, and, please be careful with your judgment in the future..... :)

About walking dogs in the rain. I swear dogs do this just to mess with us.

You look outside and it’s pouring rain outside which you know the dogs hate. You look at the weather forecast and you notice a few breaks in the rain so ask them if they want to go. Oh course they are all excited so you put on their coats, your coat , rain boots and head outside.

You can’t miss the sly eyes and look of disbelief your dogs are expressing as you walk. Their heads & ears are down. Their tail is down.

You get home and take off their wet coat, clean their muddy wet paws and fluff up the fur on their head. They then expect a dog treat so you give them one. Then they sit in front on you shivering with the saddest look on their pathetic little faces.

Talk about hook, line and sinker.
Im totally baited !
The only peeve is from THEM.
The pets. ☺️ lol

Can you tell mine are spoiled? Lol

I have no idea to whom you are addressing your post...it would help greatly if people used names since none of us can read minds.
Just for the record though, I was not being judgemental (if you meant me)...I was replying to fuzzybuddy's post.

I know you aren’t addressing me but I took her message as just a general reminder that we don’t know peoples circumstances so be careful judging. It’s a great reminder to us ALL I think.

Well I have had a heart attack, and have COPD. Until fairly recently You would have known neither and so would assume I was able-bodied. Now I am on oxygen so part of my health problem shows. Oh and I do not drive anything other than once in a great while my mobility scooter.

That's a great one! I'll add huge SUVs like Chevy Suburbans and the like. As for trucks, try living in Texas!
