Pet People and Baby Talk

Gardenlover

The world needs more love
I believe that Southwest Florida is the capital of pet lovers. Good, bad or in-between I don't know.

These pet lovers wisk their darlings around in baby buggies, bring them into restaurants and stores like they are their biological children, speaking to them in baby talk, expecting everyone around them to adore them as the little gods that they seem to think they are. Barking all day in the condo above you should be music to your ears not an annoyance that it truly is.

Guess I'm on an rant as the little doggie above me has been barking it's head off for hours now, while the owners are out on the town. I guess t's time to call and file a complaint as much as I hate to as I'm a live and let live kind of guy, but sadly some people push the limits of what is proper . Maybe the owners need a shock collar.

I don't blame you. That kind of incessant barking can drive a person crazy.

As a dog lover, I'm cool with the other stuff. 🐶

As for baby talk.... I watch some shows about the border crossings and airport customs and immigration officials and it's really funny to watch the big, mean-looking agents talking to their drug-sniffing dogs in falsetto tones, "Ooooh, he's a good boy, yes he is! He's such a good boy!" I've read that these dogs react better to high-pitched women's voices, so the handlers are trained to talk to the dogs in falsetto voices, especially when praising them. Hey, what works is what you do....

I have 2 dogs so they have company when I’m not home. I leave the radio on so they don’t hear sounds in the hallway.

Personally I only use a stroller when my dogs get old and can’t walk far so they can still enjoy getting outside and seeing something different than the house. All animals need some mental stimulation.
