Philadelphia to ban cashless stores.

Measure intended to help people who cant afford a credit card or banking fee, minimum balances etc. Massachusetts has already passed a similar measure. Complainers say it will slow Philadelphia down. Amazon might get around the measure by requiring shoppers in it's stores to have a membership.

Personally not a fan of the cashless society for several reasons. And I've been where those who couldn't afford a bank account have been. I had to use check cashing places for several years to cash checks and get money orders to pay bills because I couldn't afford a checking account.

I find this move towards a cashless society to be very disturbing and I am very much against it. I pay cash for almost everything that I do in person.

Damn it is a pain.....Our doctors office is paperless, (reminds me of your cashless store) everything is done on a computer screen. they got rid of 90 percent of the office staff. Everything is getting too automated for a dumb bell like me to cope with it. WTF is next..:hiteachother:

Yesterday I brought a package to UPS, to return to Amazon for a refund. No paper was involved. Amazon had sent me a link with one of those little square electronic codes (don't know what it's called,) and it was accessed via email on my phone. When I got to the UPS place, I had to hand them my phone so they could scan the code. And they did give me a paper receipt, amazingly enough.

What a production.

And what is even more mind boggling, a 2nd grade child taught me how to scan my lottery tickets and make live chat calls on my cell phone...:crying:
