Phillip Schofield's brother jailed

It's an awful case, we can only imagine the horrors and pain inflicted by this man. Good that justice is being carried out.

I was thinking how Phillip Schofield says he now has no brother, disowning him. Absolutely understandable of course. He must be so sickened at what he did.

What must it be like to be the close family of terrible criminals? They often never suspected a thing, but their lives must be utterly ruined. Parents and siblings, spouses of murderers and such. I bet they are just so ashamed and horrified.

What's going on with him and Hollie?
it's very complicated.. Holly's husband is one of the producers of This morning.. so it's been said that clearly Schofield is going down, and will likely lose his job ( way long after it should have happened )... and clearly they want Holly suffering the same fate ( which could likely happen with a double replacement)... hence the sepration of the chummy partnership..

He has always come across as awfully smug. I have no idea how he has managed to become so popular. 🤷‍♀️
the problem is, that he's not popular with the viewing public.. but somehow behind the scenes he's manipulated and schemed and kept the job. For years people have been trying to reveal the real Schofield.. including those who work alongside him, Eamon Holmes, Ruth etc.. the papers have reported it.. and the results were the dismissal of the whistle blowers...

remember this is a man who managed to manipulate a woman into marrying him and having children while living the life of a gay man behind the scenes..

where does it say that all current news should be of interest to the world...It's news here in the UK, and that's perfectly adequate
Here, in the US, it's a non-story. But the US version of the BBC news had almost a half hour story on this guy leaving the morning program. It shows the world that we have changed from a "boys will be boys" attitude about child/adult relations to becoming a crime, with consequences- no more slaps on the wrists.

Is it known exactly what was the problem between him and Hollie. He's now left. I'm just a bit curious as nothing is clear.
I don't much like either of them anyway but they did a good enough job.

of course, I wouldn't have expected anyone in the US to know about this morning show TV presenter.. just in the same way as if someone posted something about one of yours.. who may be a big name in the US.. but not known at all outside of the US..

The guy who has been sacked from his show.. is not the guy who was having the realtions with a minor... he's his brother...however the ''Schofield'' we're talking about as a Morning tv host.. and a horrible little weasel.. and that's as much as I should probably say on this forum.. and good riddance, I'm glad he's been sacked..

It is clear from the BBC news that actually nothing is known. All seems conjecture.
I think it is basically a personality clash, it happens. They simply don't get on any more, which makes working together in the full glare of cameras impossible.

I am in the UK and I also flatter myself I am a citizen of the world but I'd never heard of this guy until this present business blew up,

It is news now because of the fact he's left his television programme amid some animosity with his partner but the fact that his brother has been arrested was not news outside the immediate area

It's in the news not because he had animosity with his partner..it's in the news because as one of the Top Tv presenters in the Uk he became news himself a few years ago for several things. The fact you've never heard him probably makes you less that one percent of the Population and in the minority...and I would hazard a guess that you also do not read the popualr press... including the gaurdian or telegraph which have both been reporting this story for several years .., and therefore makes it news for the majority...

I look forward to you picking holes in American news of which you have no knowledge...see how far you get!

Nothing to do with Holly.. Philips resignation/Sacking from the show...

I don’ know how an OP about someone being jailed for child sexual abuse, and how that might affect the family relationship of brothers, and of families in general of criminals, has within one post been turned in a thread about the personality of the jailed persons brother and TV presenter.

No doubt it’s incredibly challenging for family members to navigate their relationship with a criminal family member, and the decision to disown someone may depend on various factors, including the nature of the crime committed. Serious crimes, such as this one can unfortunately lead to the stigmatization of the entire family, even if they are innocent parties.

The decision to disown a family member may, in part, be influenced by how others perceive the innocent family members. The shame associated with the crimes can have long-lasting effects on their lives. In some cases, friends and colleagues may distance themselves from the innocent person due to the actions of their relative. It is during times like these that individuals discover who their true friends are.

No matter how big a star he is oh how many people have heard of him or not it is not international or even national news if his brother's been arrested

I never heard of the guy! Who is he? Some rich football or hockey player who has been beating his wife or girl friend up, again?
