I just want to add that ALL of the phones I've posted even the novelty phones like the shoe & the Burger and ketchup bottle etc.. were ALL working phones, and many people had them over the years...:D
 
A friend of mine who lives in Victoria (capital city of British Columbia) gave me this about 25 years ago. On the underside there's a dial and perforations allowing sound to travel in through to the microphone and out from the earphone. Though I could actually still use it on our land-line system, I don't. It sits on a shelf in my office.

yes they were very popular novelty phones here way back in the 80's....(y)
