Most people here know I have acres of woodland behind my house, with several small lakes.. and meadows and fields...but newbies to the forum might not be aware , so here are some pictures from my woodland walk today.

There was squirrels everywhere in the woods, but they are so fast once they hear me coming and shoot straight up the trees.., it's very difficult to get a picture...

Anyway.. very hot today..almost 90 deg....no breeze at all...

Wow. I won't be nosy and ask how you wound up with it, but happy for you that you did. Of course your ex has no claim on it. You know I also live where I lived with my family. We moved in here 71 years ago TODAY! on my parents' 15th Wedding Anniversary.
No...you misunderstand this house is mine I bought this house in 1980 when I was married to my first husband, and after we left Married Quarters.. ... the area is where we moved to when I was a teen , not this house when my father got married to a local witch woman.. That house is about 2 miles from here . My ex husband grew up here in the road where I live .. and he lives around the corner now...

As a newbie, I didn't realize you had so much, and such beautiful, property, @hollydolly. Those photos are beautiful!
thank you, I'm very lucky to have it... I've been here for 44 years .. but during that time, I also bought a house in Southern Spain on a gated community .. people have seen those pics too...

Not that exact day, no. I'm not sure we were able to afford a camera yet. A pic taken of me at that age in the park I now still go to is 'somewhere.' I really must look and put together old photos. That would be a nice thing to do for my son, too.

scan them into your computer then save them to a thumb drive or external Hard-drive...

Those oak woodland forests are much like those in New England. Here in Northern California, we have somewhat similar oak woodlands along lower elevations of our inland north coast except given our wet/dry season climate, is not as close as areas of the New England. In our far north above Eureka, rainfall is higher dominated by luxuriant redwood forests. Love how you have a wonderful stream.

Yes... loads of oaks there... much more than I could show here.. lots of parkland, on which cattle and sheep graze at various times, but not yesterday... ... Several Lakes & reservoirs... and my favourite as you pointed out.. the stream which runs so gracefully under all the trees..... and which is a chalk stream, very clean, and at various points in the stream we have Rainbow trout.
