Awe, he looks so forlorn. It's coming, buddy.

Beautiful pictures as always.
Look at Mr. Cardinal being all social.lol
The sunset Junco being all mysterious like
And then those other two birds going at it
“I was here first “
“ No I was here first”
The third bird couldn’t care less, he just carries on eating.
Always entertaining at “Medusa’s Mealtime Buffet!”

Oh dear. The hot safflower seed is coming today and it isn't a moment too soon.
We've been seeing a lot of these guys lately.

And guess who else is back. :/ Go away pigeon; I'm not brining you a freaking latte!
@Imogene :ROFLMAO:

On a brighter note (I hope), who is this!? Is this a Robin?
WhatsApp Image 2026-01-31 at 13.32.02 (2).jpeg

That looks like the pigeon incoming. :/

Pretty little finch in the sunlight.

Just a pleasant group, hanging out and munching amicably. :)
WhatsApp Image 2026-01-31 at 13.32.02 (3).jpeg

Another of those funny disagreements. Or maybe they're just loud chatter. What do I know?

I just like the way this guy is eyeballing the camera.

Somebody in flight. I'm fascinated by these stills of what is actually rapid motion hard to catch with the eye. The secrets of birds.

Wow. That IS a Robin! There must be nothing around for him/her to eat. They don’t usually go to feeders. How sweet is that and you have it all on film. How lovely.
Pigeons and doves in general aren’t really feeder type birds. They are usually ground feeders.
Once again, beautiful pictures Medusa. Thanks for keeping us ALL well entertained.

Having discussions about the camera no doubt. LOL!

Probably asking each other if they're being spied on by Google lens.

So, I had the delivery days wrong and the hot safflower seed is actually coming today. Consequently, it has continued to be a free-for-all at the feeder, and not so much for the good guys. That seed cannot come soon enough.

We did see Lady Cardinal early, though. :)

And this little guy giving a close-up.

There were a few groups here and there.

I love this one. He definitely has words for his friend!
WhatsApp Image 2026-02-01 at 15.00.36 (3).jpeg

I can't tell if this is a nice thing, like feeding or an argument.
WhatsApp Image 2026-02-01 at 15.00.36 (1).jpeg

Do they make smart heated bird baths with the camera/pictures feature? That could be cute without having expense for additional bird seed.
I don't know, but it seems a good idea. My husband recently bought the pump parts and is looking for something suitable, that will be visible on the camera with which to construct a bird bath. :)

Things were a little iffy the first day with the new, hot safflower seed; we had squirrels and starlings. But they seem to have calmed today.

Lady Cardinal was here a few times.

And the Juncos are still coming around.

I thought this was a nice picture of this sparrow.
WhatsApp Image 2026-02-03 at 15.50.56 (4).jpeg

And this is just a really cool shot, I think.
WhatsApp Image 2026-02-03 at 15.50.56 (5).jpeg

How sweet is this? So it is feeding behavior. ☺️
WhatsApp Image 2026-02-03 at 15.50.56 (6).jpeg

I don't know what they're mad about; the feeder is full. 😅
WhatsApp Image 2026-02-03 at 15.50.56 (3).jpeg

ETA: LOL! That is the wrong picture of the feeding behavior. I've just realized it's the same one from the other day and I do have another from today. Lemme look again...

Gorgeous pictures as always Medusa.
Are the squirrels and starlings put off by the new food? I hope so. The new food looks like a mixture of seeds. That female cardinal is so stunning.

Do you think they like like the new seed as much as they like the other seed?
That last picture is adorable.
