Those finches are beautiful Medusa.
That was quite the fight those two got into.
Thanks for showing us. Looks like the finches like the sunflower seed more than the thistle seeds. That’s interesting.

I agree. They do go to the finch feeder, but not nearly as much as the sunflower feeder. We are hoping the finch feeder will attract some gold finches.
I don't know where our cardinals and woodpeckers have gone. :/

Maybe the woodpeckers and cardinals found another feeder while you weren’t feeding them. Or maybe they are finding more wild seeds and such since the warm weather is now here for a few days. Don’t forget you added a new feeder too. Any major changes with the bird feeder spooks them for a while. I’m sure in a while they will be back. The woodpeckers found the feeders while the other feeder was up so that’s not it.
